About Harry
Hi, I'm Harry Kind and I'm the Everyday Expert.

I'm a journalist covering everything you might spend money on (tech, travel, food, dishwashers) and everyone who wants to take your money (banks, scammers, politicians).
I think people deserve to know more about the everyday things that part them from their cash so that they can live their best lives.

You might have seen me on TV and social media helping millions do just that.
Let me tell you a bit about how I got here...
It's pretty sad to admit to being a consumer expert in primary school but here we are.

In the late 90s, as a precocious 8 year old, I purchased a copy of the Penguin Guide to the Law from the Ysgol Griffith Jones Bring and Buy sale. From this point on, I dispensed invaluable consumer advice to my classmates including...

-
their Pokemon refund rights
-
how to sue the school for negligence
-
the fact they could legally drink alcohol from age 5 so long as their parents gave it to them (UNLESS their parents were doctors in which case they could drink from age 4).
How I got to 28 before being diagnosed neurodivergent is beyond me.

From rural Wales, I headed off to Oxford, did a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics then worked in fact-ent television production for 3 years (mainly keeping Kevin McCloud supplied with Haribo). Feeling a need to get my money's worth from my student loans, I worked in the House of Commons for 3 years making videos for an MP before moving over to Which? in 2021.

Since then, I’ve presented and produced their social media video content; transitioning them from anonymous corporate YouTube videos into engaging TikTok clips. You may have been one of the 12 million people who watched my video on comparing a dishwasher to washing up by hand.
I’m also a writer: I’ve a Diploma in Comedy Writing and Producing from the NFTS, have writing credits on Radio 4 and BBC Radio Scotland, and have written both journalistic and opinion content for Which?

To this day you’ll often find me sticking out of a bin: I estimate I’ve rescued over £2,000 worth of clothes, tech and furniture from the bin store, discarded by my neighbours.

I am a dedicated explainer (I’ve been a private tutor since I was 15) and believe you can’t know a subject until you can explain it to a 5 year old. Too much consumer advice doesn’t actually explain why you have to follow it, just how. That makes it patronising to many, out of reach of others and forgettable to everyone else.
Naturally.
